Our
Process

At Fallingwood Studio, we begin by choosing specific types of wood, assembling them into segmented layers, and pressing these layers into turning blanks. These blanks are rough stacks of a wood which are then hand-turned and shaped on a woodworkers lathe. As each piece begins to form, the unique textures of the different layers appear. Incorporating paint and stain to accentuate the form gives our pieces an additional layer of individuality.
